Paper Abstractions

During compositional development, telling shapes are drawn and redrawn in relationships which speak to a specific concept or idea. After rounds of radical eliminations and adjustments, these shapes are traced onto a master sheet that I refer to as a pattern. Pattern in hand, subsequent selection of colored shapes and their relationships determine the impact of each work. From this, often a series of related work results, executed in variants and colorations of that single motif.
